About Quizzical Farm

In 2015 I decided to make some drastic lifestyle changes and the biggest one was the diet of my family.  I invited a chef, Maureen Shanahan, into my house to go through my pantry and help set me up with some scratch recepies.  She recommended that I buy some olive oil from Bread Beckers – it was straight from Greece and very affordable. Stepping into that warehouse changed my life forever.  They sell 6 gallon buckets of wheat and not only that, they have workshops on what to do with the wheat.  I bought a table top mill and a bread machine as well as all the ingredients to make bread at home and shared all that came out of my kitchen.
Today I hope to pass on the joy of being able to make great tasting food in your own kitchen.  The need for this skill became more acute during the supply disruption of COVID.  Not only is milling wheat healthier for you – one is not dependent on unseen producers of your food.  My main statement to everyone is that of the 44 vitamins and minerals our bodies need freshly milled wheat has 40 of them and of the 4 amino acids we need its got 3 of them.  It also has fiber in its natural state which is much gentler on your system.

You can also find our bread at Farmstead Market in Clayton, Ga.

We carry gluten free breads!

Please be aware we process all grains in the same table top mill.

Most gluten free breads are stored frozen or vacuum sealed because they do not keep fresh like wheat breads. If you have tried the grocery store brands then you know how true this is. The honey oat bread is the only one we have made that will stay as fresh as wheat when stored at room temperature on a countertop.

We make a variety of gluten free items and sometimes we will have samples of what is available in the freezer. Please ask if you are looking for gluten free or wheat free bread. We are working to perfect and develop more recipes as well as add more options for gluten free breads.

Grains we mill for gluten free baking include Millet, Teff, Oat groats, Sorghum, Buckwheat, Brown rice, quinoa and sometimes corn. We purchase almond flour because we cannot mill nuts.

Please remember that this is a small batch kitchen and we may have a limited amount of product to keep the quality and flavor to your high standards. We will try to accommodate, please call in advance for orders where possible.

Welcome to my kitchen!
